Early Life-

Ajit Hazarika is a resident of Bahboriagaon(village) in the Sibsagar district of Assam. He is the son of Late Padmadhar Hazarika. His age is 61 years. His wife is a homemaker.

Education:

He passed Class X (Matric) from Sivasagar Town High school in 1973. Hazarika completed his PDC from Gargaon college in 1975. The politician did his B.A from Gargaon College in the year 1979. He completed his LL.B from University Law College GauhatiUniversity.

Career and Politics-

Ajit Hazarika first got his ticket for Assam Assembly election 2001 from Nazira constituency. He lost to Dr HemoprovaSaikiaof the Indian National Congress party.

He again contested the Assam Election 2011 from Nazira constituency and lost the battle against DebrabrataSaikia from INC party.

This is the third time he shall be contesting the Assam Assembly Elections from the Sibsagar constituency. He is up against Raijor Dal president and KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi, among others.
