Early Life-

Mridul Saikia is a resident of Dhodang in the Golaghat district of Assam. He is the son of Late DharmeshwarSaikia. He is 49 years. He is married to PranitaSaikia who is a homemaker.

Education:

He is Class X (Matric) pass from Baruah Kasupathar High school.

Mridul Saikia has contested the Assam Assembly elections twice in 2006 and 2011.

In the 2006 Assam Assembly elections, he contested from Bokakhat constituency and was defeated by JitenGogoi, an Independent candidate.

He contested again in 2011 from Bokakhat constituency and lost the battle again to Arun Phukan of Congress (INC).

This is the third time he shall be contesting the Assam Assembly Elections for the upcoming 15th Assam Assembly as NCP candidate from Bokakhat constituency.
