Early Life

Pranati Phukan is the daughter of Late Dharmeswar Chetia and Late Kaushalya Chetia. She was born on 24th April 1963 in Sibsagar. She is from Salibasa, Dibrugarh. She got married to Late Hari Phukan in 1985, and she is blessed with one daughter and son.

Education

She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Gargaon College under Dibrugarh University in 1983.

Career & Politics

She is an agriculturist by profession. Pranati Phukan was the Cultural & Handloom and Textiles Minister. She was also Deputy Speaker of the Assam Assembly. She has more than two decades of experience in politics.

She enjoys listening to music and enjoys travelling to different locations. She is associated with various cultural and social organisation. She participated in a woman-centric Bhaona under the aegis of Namrup Samannay Mahila Samiti in 2019.
