Rana Goswami was born on 12th November 1959. He is 61 years old. His father's name is Late Nila Kanta Goswami and his mother's name is Smti. Premo Bala Goswami. His permanent address is Toklai Village, Jorhat, Assam. He got married on 6th March 1996 to Jyoti Rekha Goswami and is blessed with one daughter named Jagreeti Goswami.

Education:

He is a Bachelor of Commerce (1981) from Jagannath Baruah College under Dibrugarh University, Assam.

Career & Political Life:

In the 2016 Assembly elections, Rana Goswami of INC (Congress) was defeated by Hitendra Nath Goswami of BJP. Goswami is the Speaker of the 14 Assam Assembly. Rana secured 55571 votes while Hitendra Goswami got 69209 votes. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Rana Goswami of INC defeated Hitendra Nath Goswami, who contested polls of 2011 in an AGP with 68049 votes. In the 2006 Assembly elections, Rana Goswami defeated Hitendra Goswami of AGP with 49742 votes.
