Renupoma Rajkhowa is a resident of Teok, Bongali Gaon (village), in Jorhat district of Assam. She is an AsomGana Parishad (AGP) politician. Her age is 66. She was married to Late Lalit Chandra Rajkhowa who played a leading role in the Assam Agitation of 1983 which was against illegal Bangladeshi migrants.
The AGP politician cleared her 10th (Matric) in the year 1973 from FuleswariUcha Madhyamik Balika Bidyalaya. She did her Class XII (Higher Secondary) from Dibrugarh University in 1976.
Wife of one of the prominent figures of Assam agitation, Renupoma Rajkhowa first ventured into the world of politics when she got her ticket for the Assam Legislative Assembly Election of 1991 followed by 1996, 2006 and 2016 from Teok constituency, all on AGP ticket.
In the 2006 Assembly elections, she was pitched against MembarGogoi of Indian National Congress (INC) and lost the election.
In the Assam Assembly Election of 2016 she won against PallabSaikiaGogoi from the INC (Congress) party.
The veteran politician shall be contesting the 2021 Assembly polls for the fifth time on an AGP ticket from Teok.
