He was a member of the 13th Assam Legislative Assembly in 2011. His father's name is Late Bishnu Prasad Bargohain, and his mother is Noni Borghain. He got married in the year 2009 to Angkita Borgohain. He is blessed with one daughter. He is a businessman.

He is an Arts graduate (2004 batch) from City College, under Dibrugarh University.

Career and Politics:

He is a politician from the INC (Congress) party. In 2011 he got elected as a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly from Thowra Constituency. He was the President of Assam NSUI, National Vice President and Treasurer, NSUI. He was the General Secretary of Assam Pradesh Youth Congress and a General Secretary of Indian Youth Congress. In 2016 he got a ticket for the Assam Assembly election but could not win against Kushal Duwari of Bhartiya Janata Party from Thowra Constituency. He has filed his nomination for the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from the Thowra Constituency against Kushal Duwari of BJP.
