Early Life:

Utpal Borah was born on September 1, 1966 in Kalabari, Gohpur. His father's name is Late Mahendra Nath Borah and his mother's name is Late Gunada Borah. He was married on February 10, 1997 to Saraswati Borah and is blessed with three daughters. Utpal Borah- The sitting MLA from No 78 Gohpur Constituency in Assam. Utpal Borah fought Assam Elections twice in 2011 and 2016 and is contesting for the 3rd time in a row.

Education:

He has a Bachelors in Engineering from Jorhat Engineering College.

Career & Political Life:

He is an MLA from Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2016 Assam Legislative elections, he defeated Monika Bora from Indian National Congress with a vote margin of 28,935. He won 85,424 numbers of votes and Monika Bora secured 56,489 numbers of votes. In 2011 Assam Legislative elections, Bora had lost to Monika Bora. Monika Bora secured 60,441 numbers of votes while Utpal Bora secured 24,217 3) numbers of votes.

Bora laid the foundation stones of several road projects under Gopalpur Panchayat, road projects in Gohpur among others.
