Early Life-

Jitu Kissan is a resident of Village no 2 Bettybari Tea Estate in Udalguri district of Assam. His age is 41. He is the son of Late Gokul Chandra Kissan. He is married to Minati Kurmi Kissan.

Education-

He completed Master of Social Work from the Global Open University Nagaland in the year 2018. In 2002, he passed B.Sc in Botany from Gauhati University.

Career and Politics-

Jitu Kissan first stood for Assam Election in the year 2006 from Majbat constituency as AUDF candidate and lost the battle to KarendraBasumatary.

In 2011, he again contested Assam polls from the same constituency but as an INC candidate and lost it to Rakheswar Brahma from Bodoland Peoples Front.

This is the third time he shall be contesting Assam Election.

Jitu Kissan will be contesting from the Majbat constituency that goes to poll in Phase II, voting for which is scheduled to be on April 1.

The total gross value of his movable assets is estimated at Rs 3 lakhs and that of his immovable assets is Rs 8 lakhs.
