Mehbub Rahman Barbhuiya is the son of Safiqur Rahman Barbhuiya. He is a resident of Ujangram in the Cachar district. He is married to Alshahiba Shamsuddin, and they have three children.
He passed his H.S.L.C. (Matric) from Zilkadar Ali H.S. school in 2001. He completed his Higher Secondary from Sirajul Ali H.S. school in 2006.
Mehbub Rahman Barbhuiya is contesting the Assam Assembly election 2021, from the Barkhola constituency for the first time as an Independent candidate. He is a businessman by profession.
