Early Life:

Munin Mahanta is the son of Late Upen Mahanta. He is 71 years old, a resident of Bakarigaon, Morigaon. He is married to Dr Inisi Choudhury Mahanta, a retired Lecturer.

Education:

He is BA pass, 1972 batch.

Career and Political Life:

Munin Mahanta fought Assam Elections four times in 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 and is contesting the upcoming Assam Assembly elections 2021 for the 5^thtime in a row. In 1991 and 1996, Munin Mahanta won the election with 15,635 and 25,848 votes respectively. He lost the 2001 and 2006 elections. He is contesting on a CPI ticket from Morigaon constituency.
