Early life:

Rama Kanta Dewri is a resident of the Chabbukdhara, Marigaon district of Assam. He is 57 years old. He is the son of late Saruful Dewri.

He is Class X (Matric) pass from Mikirbheta High School, Nagaon Assam in 1983.

Career and Politics:

He is a Bharatiya Janata Party politician and he got elected as an MLA from Marigoan Constituency (Assam) in 2016. He is the sitting MLA of Morigaon. He is going to contest the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from the Morigoan constituency.

Controversy:

He was in the news for his controversial remarks against the Brahman community. Later he apologized for the same.
