Jatin Mali is a resident of Barkuchi village, Mirza in Kamrup district of Assam. He is the son of Late Jali Ram Mali. He is 64 years old.
He has completed MA from Gauhati University in 1982.
He is 3-time MLA from Palasbari. A former AGP leader, Jatin Mali had won the Palasbari seat twice, 1991 and 1996 as an AGP candidate and in 2011 he won the seat as an Independent. In 2019, Mali left AGP and joined the Indian National Congress (INC). He is contesting the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from Palasbari constituency on a Congress (INC) ticket.
According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his total movable assets are worth Rs 15 lakhs. His total immovable assets are worth Rs 1cr.
He has booked under Section 34 of IPC (criminal act done for furtherance of a common intent), Section 306 of IPC (abetment of suicide) and Section 406 of IPC (punishment for criminal breach of trust).
