Early Life:

Rafiqul Islam is the son of Late Iman Ali khan, his age is 41 years, and is a resident of Kalgachia, in Barpeta. He is married to Safwana Khanam.

Education:

Islam holds a Ph.D. degree from Gauhati University in 2016 and is a Gold medal holder for his marks in MA from Gauhati University in 2007.

Career and Political Life:

Rafiqul Islam fought Assam Elections twice in 2011 and 2016 and is contesting for the 3rd time in a row. He won the 2011 Assam Assembly election with 59,978 votes from Jania as an AIUDF candidate. He defeated Abdul Khalequeof INC (Congress) in 2011. In the 2016 Assam Assembly elections he was defeated by Abdul Khaleque with 29,736 margin votes. He is contesting the third time from Jania on an AIUDF ticket.
