Raj Prasad Saikia is the son of Late Kamal Chandra Saikia. He is 48 years old and is a resident of Rajgarh Road, Guwahati. He is married to Jaya Sharma. She is in the services sector.

Saikia is a B.Sc. from Arya Vidyapith College in the year 1996.

Career and Political Life:

Saikia is contesting the Assam Assemblyelections for the first time as a National People's Party (NPP) candidate from the Gauhati East constituency.
