Sheikh Shah Alom from Goalpara West: Early Life, Controversy & Political Career

Early life:

Sheikh Shah Alom is a resident of Kharmuja village, in Goalpara district of Assam. He is the son of Late Alnuddin Sheikh. Alom is 49 years old.

Education:

He has completed B.A from Abhayapuri College, Abhayapuri in 1993.

Career and Politics:

He is contesting the 2021 Assam Assembly Election from Goalpara West constituency on an Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) ticket.

Asset:

According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his total assets are worth Rs. 31 lakhs.

Criminal Case record:

There are two cases pending against him. In one case he has been booked for rioting, criminal trespass, grievous injury and murder and in another case, he has been booked on charges of promoting enmity between different groups on religious grounds, hurting the religious sentiments of people.
