Wazed Ali Choudhury from Mankachar: Early Life, Controversy & Political Career

Early life:

Wazed Ali Choudhury is a resident of Birsing Pt-II village, Fakirganj in Dhubri district of Assam. He was born on 1^stJuly, 1959 to Late Abul KashemBepari and Late Kulsum Begum. Wazed Ali is married to HachnaBasira Choudhury.

Education:

He completed his Graduation in Arts from Ratnapith College, Chapar in 1987.

Career and Politics:

WazedAli Choudhury is the sitting MLA of South Salmara constituency in the 14^th Assam Assembly. He has won the Assam Assembly elections of 1996, 2001 and the by-poll of 2009 on a Congress ticket. He has been renominated as the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate for the upcoming 15^th Assam Assembly Election from South Salmara Constituency.

According to the nomination filed with the Election Commission of India, his total movable assets are worth Rs. 42.45 lakhs. His immovable assets have a market value of Rs 1.36 crore.

He has been booked for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery property, criminal breach of trust.
