Digboi, a town popular for unique bungalows, is a Legislative Assembly Constituency located in the Tinsukia District of Assam, India. Digboi is to the North-eastern part of the State. The first oil well in Asia was drilled here, so it bears the name 'Oil City Of Assam'. People of different culture live in this borough. Assamese is the official language here.

In the 2016 Assembly Election, the Digboi Constituency had 1,15,517 voters, and the voter turnout was 95,458. In the election, Suren Phukan, a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party, won the election with 49,167 votes by defeating Gautam Dhanowar, the Indian National Congress candidate, who got 34,874 votes. The Digboi Assembly Constituency might be conducted in April-May 2021 as a part of the 2021 Assam Assembly Election.

Suren Phukan, the winner of the 2016 Assembly Election of the Bharatiya Janata Party, got 51.47%, Gautam Dhanowar of the Indian National Congress was the runner up with 36.51%, Pranab Chetia, Imran Siddique, Biswanath Sarma Bordoloi, Bhabakanta Chutia and Chandan Bagh, the Independent candidates secured 5.07%, 1.22%, 1.02%, 0.78% and 0.62% respectively. Nogen Dhekial Phukan of the National Congress Party secured 0.97%, and the votes secured by 'None of the above' NOTA was 2.35%.

In the Assam Assembly Election of 2016, the candidates who contested the election in Digboi are Suren Phukan of Bharatiya Janata Party, Gautum Dhanowar of the Indian National Congress, Nogen Dhekial Phukan of NCP and IND candidates Pranab Chetia, Imran Siddique, Biswanath Sarma Bordoloi, Bhabakanta Chutia and Chandan Bagh. In the end, Suren Phukan of the Bharatiya Janata Party won the 2016 election with a total number of 49,167 votes by defeating a candidate of the Indian National Congress named Gautam Dhanowar, who had received 34,874 votes.
Suren Phukan, MLA of Digboi, has constructed the Ganesh temple of Samdang Gaon with Rs. 1.5 lakh of the MLA Area Development Fund, constructed Harihar temple in Tokowani village at Rs 10 lakh, established Barbil Lakshmi road, Gariyating road, raised classrooms in Barekuri college, reconstructed Digboi PNGB road with Rs 52.3 lakh. He has provided electricity in the Samdang region where there was no electricity and freed the people from the darkness. During the lockdown, he distributed food items to help low-income families. He also inaugurated a mask selling centre by the self-help group near Nimitz Bakery at 1 no. Barbil Gaon Panchayat.
In the upcoming Assam Assembly Election 2021, different political parties have laid down their manifestos to the public to get their support and win the election. The Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi mentioned that they would build an anti-CAA memorial once they win. He also said that it would be a memorial to commemorate anti-CAA protesters' who sacrificed their lives to save the Assamese pride.
The manifesto also mentioned all types of microfinance loans for women to ease their concern in the villages. The party also promised free electricity up to 120 units for the poor and middle-class people so to not pay a large amount of electricity bill every month. The party also ensured that each family member would have a job to prevent unemployment and poverty by adopting 'One family, One job'.
Bharatiya Janata Party Announced that many vehicles with audio-visual presentations would tour Assam. People will be able to express what they want. This party, who had already provided 2,50,000 lakhs with each to around 8000 Namgarhs, also promised to increase other Namgarh benefits. This party also provided land pattas to the landless people.
Asom Gana Parishad has allied with Bharatiya Janata Party and has promised to find solutions regarding the problems of flood and improve the welfare of children, women and economically weaker sections of society.
The AIUDF party promised security to the minorities and dealt with illegal immigrants' problems.
