Another attraction of Tinsukia, Doomdooma, is stationed in the Tinsukia district of Assam, India. This beautiful place is popular for its tea gardens. It is a town, a municipality area and Legislative Assembly Constituency. It is a part of the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency. The town is divided into ten wards. In the 2016 election, Durga Bhumij, who belonged to the Indian National Congress party, won the seat with 46,938 votes by defeating Dilip Moran, a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate with 46,156 votes. Durga Bhumij, of the Indian National Congress (INC), won the 2016 election with 46,938 votes by defeating a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate named Dilip Moran, who lost by 782 votes.
MLA of Doomdooma, Mr Durga Bhumij constructed a Catholic church for the Christian people, constructed Radha Krishna temple, constructed the connecting bridge under Ranjan Gaon Panchayat, Dori tea garden and Dhamkuda village. He also inaugurated the Namghar tea house and the 150 no. Booth chicken road for reconstruction and repairing.
In the coming Assam Assembly Election 2021, different political parties have laid out their manifestos to the public to win the election. The Congress Party leader, Rahul Gandhi has mentioned that they will build an anti-CAA memorial once they win in the upcoming election. He also talked about it, bringing up a memorial to commemorate anti-CAA protesters' martyrdom who sacrificed their lives to save the 'Assamese pride'.
The manifesto also mentioned all types of microfinance loans for the womenfolk to ease their problems. The party has also promised free electricity up to 120 units for the poor and middle-class people.
Bharatiya Janata Party announced that many vehicles with audiovisual presentations would tour Assam, and the people will express what they want. This party, who had already provided 2.5 lakh with each to around 8000 Namgarhs, also promised to increase the benefits of other Namgarhs. This party also provided land pattas to the landless people. The AIUDF party promised to protect the security of the minorities and solve the issues of illegal immigrants.
