It covers the following assembly segments: Majuli, Naoboicha, Lakhimpur, Dhakuakhana, Dhemaji, Jonai, Chabua, Doom Dooma, and Sadiya districts of Assam. The current MP of the constituency is Pradan Baruah of BJP.

• The runner up was Joy Prakash Das of INC with 30.82% of votes.

• Birinchi Pegu of SUCI secured 0.25% of votes.
• Independent candidates Ghana Buragohain, Mahim Hazarika, Uday Shankar Hazarika, Minakhi Gohain Baruah, Hira Gogoi, Fazlur Rahman, Dilip Dutta, Nanda Kishore Maheshwari and Mahim Konwor secured 17.34%, 8.32%, 3.51%, 0.81%, 0.64%, 0.54%, 0.49%, 0.47% and 0.35% of votes, respectively.
  
• 0.66% of votes were given to "None of the above".
