Haflong is a beautiful place in Assam which is situated around 310 km from Guwahati. It is famous for its beautiful Haflong hills, landscapes, valleys, and mountains. It is situated at an altitude of 680 m above sea level and is ideal for a peaceful holiday and is also known as white ant hillock. Haflong is a town and headquarters of Dima Hasao district (formerly North Cachar Hills district) in the state of Assam in India. Haflong has a subtropical highland climate which makes it more suitable to dwell upon.

Haflong (ST) Assembly constituency - Haflong (ST) Vidhan Sabha (16) is located in Dima Hasao district of Assam and comes under the Autonomous District (ST) Lok Sabha constituency. Haflong (Vidhan Sabha constituency) is one of the 126 assembly constituencies of Assam a north east state of India. Haflong is also part of Autonomous District Lok Sabha constituency. It is a reserved seat for the Scheduled tribes (ST).

PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY

Haflong Assembly constituency is part of Autonomous District parliamentary constituency and located in N. C. Hills district of state of Assam

In Vidhansabha elections 2016, Bir Bhadra Hagjer of BJP party won with 52037 votes. The runner up was Nirmal Langthasa of INC party. The margin of victory was: 8306 votes.

In Vidhansabha elections 2011, Gobinda Ch. Langthasa of INC party won with 38076 votes. The runner up was Kulendra Daulagupu of BJP party. The margin of victory was: 25488 votes.

DISTRICT

Haflong comes under the district of Dima Hasao earlier called North Cachar Hills district, is an administrative district in the state of Assam in North-eastern India. As of 2011, it is the least populous district of Assam. Dima Hasao district is one of the two Autonomous hill districts of the state of Assam. The district headquarter Haflong is the only hill station in Assam, a tourist paradise, also named the Switzerland of the north-east.
