HAILAKANDI is a small town in the district of Hailakandi itself of the Indian State of Assam which is located at 24.68N and 92.57E. The district was created on 1st October 1989 and has a Hailakandi Municipality Board as a governing body with a total area of 1,327 km.

Hailakandi announces five Innovative schemes and projects nominated for the SKOCH Award which are Akanksha, Seetalpati diversification, Amla-Gur Candy, Matrideep and Jal Surakshan Prakalpa. These projects are selected for the betterment of the place for growth, development and financial developments.
Of the other works, a number of piped water supply schemes like Neer Nirmal Pariyojana came up for review the under-World Bank at Algapur. Another, six mega piped water supply projects are in progress of which two have been completed and the remaining four are under construction.
