The Indian Railways shall begin operating trains for passengers after a long sabbatical amid the extended lockdown. Two of these trains are bound for the Northeast Indian region. Here's what you need to know:
Starting May 12:
Rajdhani Express 12423/12424 from Dibrugarh - New Delhi - Dibrugarh (Daily)
Stoppings only at Mariyani, Dimapur, Lumding, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar Jn, Barauni Jn, Danapur, Pd. Dd Upadhaya Jn, Prayahraj Jn, and Kanpur Central stations during its both-ways journeys.
According to reports, the train will run as per public time table timings from New Delhi with effect from May 12 from New Delhi and May 14 from Dibrugarh.
Starting May 18:
Rajdhani Express 20501/20502 Agartala - New Delhi - Agartala (Weekly)
Stoppages at Badarpur Jn, Guwahati, Kokrajhar, New Jalpaiguri, Katihar Jn, Barauni Jn, Patliputra, Pd. Dd Upadhaya Jn and Kanpur Central stations during its both ways journeys.
The train will run from New Delhi with effect from May 18 and with effect from May 20.
How to Get Tickets:
Tickets for these special passenger trains will only be available on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website from May 11, 4 pm onwards. No offline tickets will be available at the counter. Passengers will be allowed to enter the station only if they hold a valid ticket and they will also have to wear a proper face cover, such as a mask. They will undergo a check-up at the station and only those who clear the test will be allowed on the train, the Railways said.
