Namrup Police seized heroin worth Rs 2 lakh; 3 held from Lalpagurighat

NAHARKATIA: Based on specific information, Namrup Police nabbed three drug peddlers on Saturday from Lalpagurighat Namrup.

According to sources, a police team led by DSP Namrup Kula Pradip Bhattacharjee conducted a search operation in Namrup Lalpagurighat area and arrested three drug peddlers. They have been identified as Ritupon Gogoi, son of Amit Gogoi of Goriabam Gaon, Namrup; Kamal Handique, son of Ajit Handique of Tengakhat; and Vivek Singh, son of Kamalesh Singh of Nagadolong, Namrup.

The police team seized 6 gm heroin worth around Rs 2 lakh. A case has been registered under Namrup Police Station Case no. 68/2020 u/s 22(b) NDPS Act. All three drug peddlers were sent to jail on Sunday.
