JORHAT: At least two persons tested positive along with 15 others falling ill due to Japanese Encephalitis within the district of Jorhat, said Dr. Pawan Chandra Saikia, the chief medical officer of Jorhat here on Tuesday. They were identified to be one Riyaz Nayak (25), Himandri Saikia (26), both hailing from Selenghat and Borigaon respectively, while a total of 15 persons are admitted at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) since Sunday. Moreover, a team of doctors, nurses, para-medical staff, MPW, have been working on war footing while anti-JE measures are at its peak following fogging, spraying of DDT, along with sanitization process and even distribution of medicinal mosquito nets that will take place from Wednesday, Dr. Pawan Chandra Saikia, the chief medical officer said.
