Udalguri administration decided one-third of shops to remain open

UDALGURI/TANGLA: The Udalguri district administration on Monday decided to allow only one-third shops to do business during the third phase of nationwide lockdown. The decision to this effect was taken in an emergent meeting chaired by Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Prakash Ranjan Gharphaliya, which was attended by State PHE Minister Rihon Daimari, who is also in-charge of COVID-19 for Udalguri and Baksa districts. The meet was also attended by other government officials and representatives from the business fraternity from Udalguri, Rowta and Mazbat areas of the district.

The meeting resolved that the government guidelines in relaxations would be strictly maintained and the market complexes would remain close as before while the business activities and movement of public would be restricted from 6 pm till 6 am every day. However, essential services like medical, water and milk supply would not be affected during the period.
