Guwahati: As we all know that a dirty confrontation with journalist Arnab Goswami at an IndiGo flight led Kunal Kamra banned by the airlines for at least six months. However, he has also been banned from Air India, SpiceJet and Go Air for reasons one can only guess.
But, here’s another interesting story where Air India troubled a passenger with the name Kunal Kamra suspecting him to be a stand-up comedian ‘Kunal Kamra’.
It’s obvious that there is more than one Kunal Karma in the world and it seems like they have to pay the price of the ban on the stand comedian.
As per a media report, the person identified as Kunal Kamra, from Boston was visiting his family in India when he had to face issues at the Jaipur airport only because a man he shares his name with landed in controversy.
He had a flight from Jaipur to Mumbai with Air India but when he reached the PNR counter he was told that it has been cancelled because his name is blacklisted.
"I was not informed before my flight that my ticket was cancelled. I never received a proper explanation as to why my ticket was cancelled. Basically, the only reason they cancelled my ticket is because my name is the exact same as that of another person. The problem with that is that if you were to cancel my ticket just based on my name, that is not acceptable because a lot of people might have the same name,” told the person before the media.
The whole process took very long as the person had to prove his identity using multiple identity cards and different check-in points, only because he had a name like another man.
One must note here that a lot of people around the world have the same name. Do other Kunal Kamras too would have to go through the same suffering?
