Assam Congress MP Bhubaneswar Kalita resigns from Rajya Sabha

Guwahati: In a sudden and shocking decission made by veteran Congress leader from Assam, MP Bhubaneswar Kalita has announced to resign from the Rajya Sabha on Monday. This decission by the Congress MP has come amidst the controversial and much unruly situation created in the parliament due to the sudden announcement made by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Notably, the Home Minister today uphold the special status issue of Kashmir and have proposed to scrap Article 370. with the end of the Article 370, the special status of Kashmir has come to an end and not only this, Both Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are announced to be made a Union Territory.

Earlier, Bhubaneswar Kalita had contested the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections from Mangaldai constituency and had tasted defeat in the hands of the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Dilip Saikia.
