The girl child, who tested positive last night, declared COVID-19 negative after retesting

The four-and-half years old girl, who was, reportedly, tested coronavirus positive at the JMCH, has been declared not infected by the deadly virus on Sunday morning. Sources revealed that the preliminary medical investigation done on the child at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital, where one laboratory has been set up for the coronavirus test, confirmed that she was infected by the coronavirus. Then, the specialist doctors at the medical college sent her sample to the Indian Council of Medical Research’s regional laboratory located at Lahowal, Dibrugarh for a recheck and further confirmation, on Saturday. The confirmation report, which has come out on Sunday morning, has given much relief to her family and people across the North-east as it revealed that the child is not infected by the dreaded virus. The girl’s family has been also quarantined at the JMCH after she was taken to the medical college by a group of nurses and ASHA workers as per the doctors’ advice on March 20. she has been suffering from cold and fever, exhibiting some symptoms of the coronavirus infection, sources said.
