Woman Traffic Constable felicitated by SP Nagaon for performing duty despite heavy rain

Nagaon: The Superintendent of Police of Nagaon, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi on Wednesday felicitated the woman traffic constable Ranjula Devi for performing her duty wholeheartedly in rough weather conditions by standing on a side of the road near Himatsinka Petrol Pump on September 9.

WPC-398- Ranjula Devi is a resident of Raha had joined Assam Police on January 2019, she joined the Assam Traffic Branch on August 24, 2019.

Speaking to media, SP Medhi said, "Traffic Constable Ranjula Devi had set a great example for the entire traffic branch, her positive and disciplined attitude towards work will surely motivate the other police personnel in the branch. She was lauded on social media by the netizens for performing her duty wholeheartedly on the rough weather condition and this will indeed motivate her. Nagaon Police Department also decided to felicitate her today as a token of appreciation."

It is to be noted that the matter came into the light of the Nagaon Police Department after photos of the on-duty woman traffic constable Ranjula Devi got surfaced on the social media.

Later, Assam's star Sprinter and Dhing Express Hima Das appreciated her through a post on Twitter.

Hima Das also contacted SP Medhi over the phone and congratulated Ranjula Devi for her work.

It may further be mentioned that earlier, a traffic constable in Guwahati namely Mithun Das was felicitated by the Commissioner of Police Deepak Kumar for his bravery and presence of mind while managing the traffic on a busy road and standing boldly amid heavy rain in an uncovered podium on March 31st afternoon.

Mithun Das was not only showered with praise on social media for devotion towards his duty but also made headlines in both local and national media.
