Guwahati: Fine run for Assam Boxer Jamuna Boro comes to an end as she goes down 0-5 in the Semi-Finals against her Chinese opponent Huang Hsiao-Wen in the 54Kg category to win a Bronze Medal on debut at the AIBA World Women’s Boxing Championship 2019 edition in Russia on Saturday.

However, India still can hope for gold as Indian Boxer Manju Rani made history by becoming the first women boxer to reach the finals of AIBA World Women’s Boxing Championship on debut after 18 years. Manju Rani defeated her Thai opponent Chuthamat Raksat by 4-1 to seal her berth in the 48kg category of the World Women’s Boxing Championship 2019.

Earlier, Manipur Boxer MC Mary Kom had reached the finals of AIBA World Women’s Boxing Championship in the year 2001.
