Kokrajhar: Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) candidate Pramila Rani Brahma on Tuesday files her nomination before the returning officer and Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency.
The BPF leader had submitted the nomination at around 11.06 am. The party members also informed that the submission of the nomination papers was carried out as per the date, time, and day of ‘Ponjika’ (almanac calendar) along with advice from an astrologer.
The BPF candidate was joined by Bodoland Territorial Council Chief Hagrama Mohilary and sitting MP for Kokrajhar Biswajit Daimary including other party members.
Speaking to the Media, BPF candidate Pramila Rani Brahma claimed that she would win the Kokrajhar seat and immediately work for executing ST status to the six indigenous communities of the state after winning the election.
She also mentioned that her strongest candidate for the upcoming general election from Kokrajhar would be with UPPL candidate supported by All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU).
On the other hand, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary showing his confidence to conquer the Kokrajhar seat claimed that the party is confident about Pramila Rani Brahma’s victory in the upcoming general elections. “We have submitted the nomination of Pramila Rani Brahma after consulting an Astrologer. We are sure to win the general election with a margin of at least 3 lakh votes, Our alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party-Asom Gana Parishad will emerge victorious in the polls,” said Hagrama Mohilary.
BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary further mentioned that although the party is in alliance with BJP and AGP, Hagrama added, “Our party doesn’t require any star campaigner from BJP or AGP party for election campaigns and public meetings in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) areas”.
Furthermore, Independent candidate Naba Kumar Sarania files his nomination before the Returning officer of Kokrajhar for the third phase of general elections.
