Collection of Assamese Poems Translated Into English Released

GUWAHATI: A poetry collection translated from Assamese into English by Surajit Borooah was released here at Guwahati Press Club on Sunday. Present at the book release ceremony of ‘Selected Assamese Poetry Vol. II,’ former Assam Public Service Commission member and poet Anees Uz Zaman said, “It’s a tough job to translate Assamese poems into English. Surajit Borooah has done his job nicely. His work is appreciable”. Zaman repented that a section of the present generation Assamese lacks study on Assamese poetry. Archana Pujari, Anubhav Tulsi and Shrutimala Duarah were also present on the occasion.
