Comedy King, Veteran Actor Kader Khan Passes Away

Guwahati: Veteran Bollywood actor and a much popular and successful scriptwriter Kader Khan breathed his last on December 31 at 6 pm in Canada. The veteran actor died at an age of 81 and was living with his family in Canada during the time of his death.

The actor was already in an ailing state and was admitted to the hospital when his health deteriorated on Friday. The actor, as confirmed by his son Sarfaraz, was suffering from breathlessness when he was admitted last and finally closed his eyes. Late Khan’s funeral will be observed in Canada on Tuesday.

Khan’s son Sarfaraz said, “My dad has left us. He passed away on December 31 at 6 pm as per Canadian time due to prolonged illness. He slipped into coma in the afternoon. He was in the hospital for 16-17 weeks. The last rites will be performed here in Canada only. We have our entire family here and we live here so we are doing it.” He further added, “We are thankful to everyone for their blessings and prayers.”

The actor, after complaining of breathlessness, was put on a BiPAP ventilator in the hospital. Also, he was unable to talk during the last days of his life and the symptoms of his health problem showed signs of pneumonia. The late actor was also suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) which is a degenerative disease causing loss of balance. In this disease, a person finds difficulty in walking and suffers from dementia. In the year 2017, Kader Khan had also gone through surgeries of his knees.

Co-actors and subordinates of the Hindi film Industry have conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. Actor Amitabh Bachchan was one of the most shocked and distressed actors to hear his co-actor passing away. Bachchan wrote, “Kadar Khan passes away. Sad depressing news. My prayers and condolences. A brilliant stage artist a most compassionate and accomplished talent on film. A writer of eminence; in most of my very successful films. A delightful company and a mathematician."

The two eminent Bollywood actors were seen in many blockbuster movies together and some of the remarkable ones are Do Aur Do Paanch, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Mr. Natwarlal, Suhaag and Shahenshah.
