Coronavirus: 6 people in Agra detected with “high-viral load”; Modi says no need to panic

NEW DELHI: Six people in Agra have been kept under isolation at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi after “high-viral load” was detected in their samples. The six people are family members of the man from Delhi who tested positive for coronavirus on Monday. Their samples are being sent to NIV, Pune for further testing.

The man from Delhi had a travel history to Italy which has been severely impacted due to coronavirus outbreak.

The government is now carrying out contact tracing of people who came in touch with the patients through Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP), claim reports.

A 24/7 control room has also been set up to address this issue.

An Italian tourist who was visiting Rajasthan has tested positive for COVID-19. The patient is undergoing treatment at an isolation ward of the SMS Medical Hospital in Jaipur.

The man who had checked into a hotel in Udaipur along with a group of 20 tourists had started complaining of breathlessness and cough which is when he was taken to Fortis Hospital on the night of Feb 28. Later he was shifted to SMS Medical Hospital in Jaipur and kept in the ICU, officials at the hospital said.

The first screening test had come out negative and the second had come o0ut positive.

The third sample has been sent to National Institute of Virology, Pune for further confirmation.

On February 20, India’s first novel coronavirus patient after being treated at the Government Medical College hospital was discharged. Medical Board took the decision to discharge the woman from the hospital after her samples had tested negative for the second time.

The woman after returning from Wuhan was put in isolation and undergoing treatment.

Two other students infected with coronavirus, one from Alappuzha and another Kasaragod had been discharged recently after they too tested negative for the virus in fresh tests.

All of the three Keralites had earlier tested positive for the coronavirus on their return from Wuhan, the epicenter of the deadly outbreak in China, triggering a scare in the state.
