Crocodile attacks man at Kali river near Dandeli, Man declared out of danger

Guwahati: An Ayappa devotee, named Nagesh Eshwar Ballari met with an encounter with a crocodile when the man had stepped into the water of Kali river for a bath. Fortunately, he survived the injury caused by the attack of the crocodile.

As stated by the eyewitnesses, the 43-year-old devotee, from Nirmal Nagar in Dandeli, had gone into the river for a bath but got attacked by a crocodile. The crocodile pulled him into the deepwater seeing which the eyewitnesses raised an alarm and informed the forest department.

The forest department officials launched an immediate search for the devotee and found him lying on the bank, which is at a distance from the spot where he had entered the river.

He was immediately being taken for medical treatment. Mr. Nagesh, however, was in a state of shock on the sudden attack of the crocodile. Doctors, later declared that Nagesh is out of danger. He was sent to a private hospital in Dharwad for further treatment.
