New Delhi: Suspended AAP councillor Tahir Hussain has been arrested. Hussain whose name was linked to the death of Ankit Sharma had been absconding for a while now.
A Delhi high court dismissed Hussain’s plea where he wished to surrender. Soon after the police came and arrested him. Hussain maintained that he was innocent and that the charges were false. Ankit who used to work for the Intelligence Bureau was brutally killed by rioters and his body was recovered from a drain near his house. An FIR had been filed against Hussain after a complaint was filed by Ankit’s father.
Writer Javed Akhtar was heavily slammed by netizens for tweeting out his views on the arrest of AAP councillor Tahir Hussain.
He had tweeted, “So many killed , so many injured , so many house burned , so many shops looted so many people turned destitutes but police has sealed only one house and looking for his owner . Incidentally his name is Tahir . Hats off to the consistency of the Delhi police .”

So far 11 bodies have been recovered from drains of northeast Delhi, claim reports.
It is suspected that the ones whose bodies have been recovered from the drain probably lost their lives during the violence in Delhi.
Sporadic incidents of stone-pelting between anti and pro-CAA groups at Maujpur in east Delhi broke a relative lull in tension over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act. Slowly the incidents took the shape of riots. The police fired teargas shells. The tension erupted after a pro-CAA rally in the area was stoned by a group of anti-CAA protesters. Following stone-pelting by both groups, the police stepped in to disperse the two groups.
The Directorate of Education on Saturday declared that the schools in northeast Delhi will remain closed till March 7. This comes in the wake of the large-scale violence in northeast Delhi earlier this week. The Delhi government has demanded the suspension of the board examinations in the schools in these areas. In addition to the 10th and 12th board exams, the school examinations up to class 11 were also postponed.
