Guwahati Bomb Blast: Suspected ULFA-I linkman apprehended in Nagaon

Nagaon: In a major breakthrough, Nagaon Police apprehended a suspected ULFA-I linkman, believed to be involved in the Guwahati Bomb Blast incident on Wednesday evening.

The person identified as Indra Mohan Bora is a resident of Cholcholi village under Samuguri Police Station.

Sources informed that Indra Mohan Borah’s father had served as Police Jawan in Assam Police, however, there is no official statement in this regard.

Moreover, it has also come to light that Indra had joined the outlawed faction ULFA-I as linkman on January 2019.

Speaking to The Sentinel Digital, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi said, “We got some leads to the grenade blast incident in Guwahati and accordingly apprehended Indra today. He has got some links with ULFA-I since past few months. Moreover, the person who was involved in the blast on that day was in touch with him both physically and through social media. Indra had also assisted the person not only on the day of the incident but earlier as well.”

Since the matter is under investigation, Superintendent of Police, Nagaon, Sankarbrata Rai Medhi refused to comment further.

Meanwhile, Nagaon Police had recovered one mobile handset, few pen drives and a knife from his possession.

During the course of the operation, Nagaon Police also recovered a motorcycle. Police suspect that the particular motorcycle was used in the Grenade Blast Incident near ‘Guwahati Central Mall’.
