Himanta Biswa Sarma will be contesting from Tezpur for sure: MP RP Sharma

Tezpur: After several media reports stating that Finance Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma will be contesting from Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency, MP Ram Prasad Sharma on Friday had admitted that the chances of Assam Finance Minister representing as the next MP from Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency is high.

Speaking to the media, MP RP Sharma said, "Himanta will be contesting the Lok Sabha election from Tezpur Lok Sabha Constituency, He will surely get the ticket. Although, I tried my best for it. But....what can I do here?"

Also, stating about the rumours of RP Sharma joining to Congress, RP Sharma replied, "I have never thought of joining Congress. Presently, I have not taken any such decisions."

Earlier, there were reports stating MP Ram Prasad Sarmah had threatened to quit the saffron party if he is not selected to contest the election from Tezpur Lok Sabha constituency.
