Tinsukia: In an inhuman act, there are reports claiming that a patient was kept along with a dead body in the same room for the past three days at Tinsukia Civil Hospital.

As per sources, a patient identified as Mohammad Hussain (42), a resident of Hijiguri in Tinsukia was admitted at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Civil Hospital three days back by his wife.

It is to be noted that the Hussain was admitted at the civil hospital due to excessive consumption of alcohol.

On the other hand, the attendant of the patient (wife) informed the media that they were allegedly misbehaved by the staff members at the Civil Hospital after he was admitted at the hospital.

What is more shocking into the matter is that the patient was found lying on the floor, while a dead body was kept on the bed in the same room.

Reports also state that the hospital staff didn’t provide any receipt or challan during the admission of the patient.

Speaking to the media, one of the local people alleged that the patient was badly treated at the hospital with severe medical negligence.

Soon after the matter came to light, Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Civil Hospital, Tinsukia, Superintendent, Dr. NC Mahato claimed that he was not being coordinated by the on-duty concern staff members over the matter, however, assured to provide proper treatment to the patient. He further mentioned conducting an investigation into the matter.

Mahato also informed that there is no morgue room at the Tinsukia Civil Hospital leading to such inhuman act. “We have informed the health department about this earlier, but no steps have been taken in consideration to the matter so far, we are hopeful that the department will soon provide us with a well-equipped morgue room,” said Mahato.
