Guwahati: Eminent educationist and administrator of Assam, Tabu Ram Taid breathes his last on Saturday morning at Apolo Hospital in Guwahati. Taid was long been suffering from ageing illness.
Former Chairman of Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) and the Director of SCERT, Secondary Education, Higher Education, Tabu Ram Taid was a reknown name in the educational society of Assam. State Finance Minister Dr.Himanta Biswa Sarma has expressed his deep condolence on the sudden demise of the most popular and loved veteran educationist of the state.

As the state minister says, Taid was a flag bearer of Assamese language and culture who had been a school teacher followed by joining Cotton College as a lecturer in the Department of English.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal too was grief-stricken at the demise of the veteran linguists. CM expresses his condolence in a tweet which reads:

Born on August 1, 1942, in North Lakhimpur district of Assam, Taid passed away at an age of 77 years.
