Guwahati: Proud Moment for India! Assam Boxer Lovlina Borgohain enters semis in the 69kg category by defeating Karolina Koszewska of Poland 4:1 at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in Ulan Ude, Russia on Thursday. She ensures India's fourth medal.
Earlier, Lovlina defeated Morocco’s Bel Ahbib Oumayma 5-0 in her last 16-clash in the 69-kg category in the pre-quarterfinal bout.
Like Jamuna, Lovlina, who is the last edition’s bronze-winner, dominated the three rounds and even though Bel Ahbib seemed to be having an edge in the final round, the Indian boxer came out with some timely and accurate blows to enter the quarterfinals in the World Women Boxing Championship 2019 in Russia.
