New Delhi: The American Business Magazine Forbes has recently released the much-awaited list of 'Forbes Billionaires 2022' which shows the annual ranking by documented net worth of the world's wealthiest billionaires.

The list draws massive attention as the richest people, this year were hit by various economic and political crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian Ukraine war and the stagnant global market.

According to Forbes, there were 87 fewer billionaires when compared with last year's period and they are worth a collective of 12.7 trillion dollar.

Notably, the Indian leading entrepreneur and chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani has appeared to be the only Indian to make his place in the top 10 list of Forbes Billionaires this year.

The largest shareholder of Reliance Industries has been ranked the 10th richest person in the annual ranking of richest people worldwide.

Ambani with a net worth of 100.1 billion dollar is followed by the chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani with a total net worth of 90 billion dollar.

But Adani ranks above Ambani to win the title of the richest man in Asia as per the real-time billionaire index which says Adani's net worth is 100 billion dollar.

This year Adani, who is the founder of an Ahmedabad-based multinational conglomerate has done much progress with a 23.5 billion dollar increase in his wealth.

Meanwhile, Tesla CEO Elon Musk is leading in the list of Forbes Billionaires with a net worth of 219 billion dollar followed by Jeff Bezos, the owner of Amazon with a net worth of 171 billion dollar.

As per the Forbes data, it said that more than 1000 billionaires this year were found to be richer than they were in the last year.

The most dramatic dropdown has been witnessed by Russia with 35 billionaires than a year ago following Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

In china 87 fewer billionaires have made it to the coveted list because of the government crackdown on various technology companies.
