GURUGRAM: Two senior officials with Meta India have decided to step down from their positions in the company.

The Director of Public Policy in India for Meta, Rajiv Aggarwal and the Head of WhatsApp in India, Abhijit Bose have resigned from the company. This follows the resignation of the Head of Meta India, Ajit Mohan which happened earlier this month. He had left Meta to join its rival brand Snap as the President in the entire Asia-Pacific region.

The Director of Public Policy for WhatsApp India, Shivnath Thukral will now take over as the Director of Public Policy for all Meta brands in the country.

Meta, which had previously announced a complete halt on new hiring and had recently gone forward to relieve around 11000 employees. These job cuts affected employees all over the globe. But they will soon have to find replacements for these top executives in India.

The official statement mentioned that Rajiv Aggarwal had stepped down from his position as the head of WhatsApp in the country "to pursue another opportunity". He played a very important part in the penetration of applications in the Indian markets, thus making it one of the largest markets for the same. A recent statement from the parent brand mentioned that WhatsApp is looking at making huge profits in the next year from India.

Shivnath Thukral worked as a journalist before becoming a part of the Public Policy team of WhatsApp India in 2017.
