NRL MD SK Barua handing over dividend cheque to CM Sarbananda Sonowal in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Managing Director, Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) SK Barua on Monday presented the cheque of the company’s first interim dividend amounting to Rs 136.23 crore to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal for the financial year 2019-20 at the Chief Minister’s chamber in Assam Legislative Assembly here. This was the dividend for nine months of the financial year till December stated a press release.

Notably, Chief Minister Sonowal received the cheque as part of the dividend against the Government of Assam’s equity holding of 12.35 percent in the company. The final dividend will be decided at the NRL’s board meeting after the current financial year ending on 31st March 2020.

Industry and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Commissioner and Secretary KK Dwivedi, senior officials of NRL were present during the presentation of the dividend cheque.
