Reliance Jio Continues to Grow Revenue Market Share in Assam

- Reliance Jio Assam achieves 42% revenue market share for Q1 2020

-Maintains RMS leadership for 4th successive quarter with 6.8% gap from the nearest operator

The recent telecom industry revenue data published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for June 2019 has revealed that Reliance Jio continues to lead revenue market leadership in Assam achieving 42% of the market share. As per the report Reliance Jio achieved 325 Cr, Vodafone Idea (VIL) achieved 143 Cr, BSNL achieved 35 Cr and Airtel achieved 272 Cr Revenue during Q1 2020. The gap between Reliance Jio and the nearest operator has now widened further to 6.8% from 2.9% from the previous quarter.

Amongst the Reliance Jio Circles in India, Jio Assam is now placed at 3rd position in terms of revenue market share and is at the 1st position nationally in terms of Average Revenue Per User at Rs. 156.

In Assam, Jio has a wide network reach, covering 95% population coverage of the State. With 157 Jio Service points spread across Assam to service its customers, Jio is fully equipped to serve the rural population at over 95% of the gram panchayats.

Nationally Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio pipped Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea in April-June as top revenue earner from telecom services at Rs 10,900 crore within three years of commencing commercial operations, according to the latest financial data released by telecom regulator Trai. Industry watchers noted Jio was number 1 in AGR in 14 circles, Airtel in three circles and Vodafone Idea in 5 circles. In the same quarter, Reliance Jio became the country's largest telecom operator with a subscriber base of 33.13 crores, surpassing Vodafone Idea which on Friday reported a decline in its user base to 32 crores by June 2019.
