Candidates submit papers during the second phase of nomination filing

Silchar: As the last date for submission of nomination papers for the second phase of Lok Sabha election to be held on April 18 inches closer, candidates made a beeline on Monday for submitting nominations. Alongside ministers, senior party leaders and jubilant supporters, candidates of Indian National Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, SUCI (C) and Independent candidates submitted their nomination papers before the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar and Returning Officer Laya Madduri. The candidates who filed their nominations included Dr Rajdeep Roy (BJP), MP Sushmita Dev (INC), Shyamdeo Kurmi (SUCI(C)) and Dilip Kumar (Indp). As per the Election Commission of India, March 26 i.e. Tuesday has been fixed as the last date for filing of nominations.
