Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli distributed tractors in Hailakandi

HAILAKANDI: Tractors were distributed to the beneficiaries under the Chief Minister's Samagra Gramin Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY). Five tractors under CMSGUY Phase II were handed over to the beneficiaries by Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli and District Development Commissioner, Vikram Dev Sarma at the District Agriculture Office premises here on Thursday.

District Agriculture Officer, Aniruddha Dutta, Subdivisional Agriculture Officer, Dr.AR Ahmed, ADO, P. Borah and JE, Manish Das Laskar were present on the occasion. Under CMSGUY Phase II, 70 drafts have been received as against the target of 188 tractors. The Agriculture authorities urged the rest of the selected farmers to deposit their share within May 12 failing which the next group would be given the opportunity to avail the scheme.

70 per cent subsidy is being provided by the State government under the scheme while the beneficiaries' share is only 30 per cent. The leftovers of CMSGUY Phase I numbering 18 groups would now be brought under the Phase II. As against the target of 114, 90 tractors have been already distributed. In view of COVID-19 situation, the Agriculture authorities ensured presence of only two farmers as against 8-10 member groups to the function today.
