Development Schemes Coming Up, Assures MP Rajdeep Roy

Silchar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee launched the party’s countrywide membership drive from Varanasi on Saturday. Keeping this in view and many more, Cachar BJP led by MP Dr Rajdeep Roy and president Kaushik Rai too launched it. Addressing mediapersons at a press-meet held at Itkhola party office here on Saturday, Kaushik Rai said, “The drive for membership to BJP party is an important one as we have set a target of increasing its membership to more than 2 lakhs in Cachar alone in the coming years. We have been observing the birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee like this only. Provisions for online membership are also there.”

“In addition to it, Panchavati Yojana has also been launched. According to it, BJP members across all the 1461 booths here will plant at least 5 saplings. They will take good care of the saplings, nurture it and see that it blooms in the end,” he said. The newly elected BJP MP from Silchar shared his rich Parliament experiences which include oath-taking ceremony, his maiden speech, orientation programme, budget session and many more. “I put forth all questions related to Assam, north-east, Barak Valley, railway, infrastructure development, 4-lane expressway from Silchar to Saurashtra, the nagging land acquisition problem etc,” he added to say.

“I am hopeful that all work will be completed within time. We are focussing on single-window clearance approach in solving people’s problems,” said Dr Roy. He also threw light on the budget and said, “The crux of the budget lies in its goal to achieve $5 trillion economy in the next 5 years. PSUs, banking sector, RBI loans, money lending-borrowing business will ease as huge amount of money has been sanctioned. Around 2 crore houses to be built in villages only to have a pucca roof over every poor homeless by 2022. Moreover, in the coming few years, 1.25 lakh km of roads will be built in villages. None should remain without electricity. ‘Nal se jal’ – continuous water supply, drinking water supply, laying of railway tracks, maintenance of modern railway stations, provision of Wi-Fi in all the stations of north-east within 6 months, electrical vehicles, power supply, MSME, tourism, sports university in Manipur, new educational policy and development of Assam University are in the pipeline,” he added to say.
