Silchar, June 15: Forum for Civil Rights (FCR), Karimganj, through a press-release issued on Wednesday, has urged the authorities concerned to consider their demands which include inclusion of all Indian citizens in NRC, Assam irrespective of their linguistic, religious and ethnic identities without any discrimination, inclusion of all the persons as citizens in NRC who have applied for with supporting documents admissible as per provisions of Indian Evidence Act 1872 and in appropriate cases by oral testimony and inclusion of the names of all those persons in the NRC who have their domicile in the territory of India and who have taken birth in the territory of India or either of his parents was born in the territory of India or ordinarily had been residing in India.

They have demanded that to include names of those persons as citizens in NRC who were born in India within the period January 26, 1950 before January 1, 1987 solely on proof of their birth, direct or circumstantial, to include names of all those in NRC as citizens who were born on and after July 1, 1987 and before December 3, 2004 and either of whose parents is a citizen of India with proof of their birth, either direct or circumstantial, to include those persons in NRC whose names were available in the electoral rolls of 1966 and 1971 without any further scrutiny and doubt regarding spelling mistakes and nicknames and names of their descendant also should be included with linkage documents or oral testimony of other members as admissible as per the evidence act.
