Students' orientation programme organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad

Silchar: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Badarpur unit, organized a students' orientation programme for Science, Arts and Commerce streams in Vidyarthi Vikas Sibir held at Maharshi Sandipan Vidyapith School at Badarpur on Sunday.

The day long orientation programme began at 9.30 in the morning and concluded at 3 in the evening. The initiative to organize it was taken by ABVP, Badarpur unit. Along with it, executive committee formation programme was held. A total of around 150 students from different schools and colleges participated in the seminar. Among the schools, Maharshi Sandipan Vidyapith, Tagore School of Studies, Saint Joseph's School, Badarpur Vidyamandir, Railway Higher Secondary School students were present.

Among the colleges, Nabin Chandra College, Beacon Junior College, Pacific Junior College and Paragon College students were present. The programme started with lighting of the auspicious lamp by Prof Sourav Purkayastha, principal, Pacific Junior College and Prof Arun Kumar Sen, assistant professor, department of Economics, N C College, Badarpur. Sourav Purkayastha is also the president of ABVP, Badarpur unit. Later, they deliberated their valuable words on ABVP and advised the students to be a good citizen and develop their nature and dedication. Sourav Purkyastha threw light on the historical activities, achievements and works of ABVP.
